Dara Deering is CEO of HBFI having joined the organisation on 2nd September 2019. Dara has extensive experience in Financial Services having previously served as Executive Director and Head of Retail Banking at KBC Bank Ireland plc since February 2012. During that time Dara led the launch and implementation of a new Retail Bank, broadening the range of products and services available, and offering a new banking alternative for Irish consumers. Prior to her time in KBC Dara held a number of leadership positions in the retail financial services industry. She holds an MBA from Smurfit Business School and a Bachelor of Science Management from Trinity College Dublin
Michael Broderick, a former Army Officer, joined the NTMA in 2006 as a Financial Analyst with the NDFA, where he worked on a number of PPP infrastructure projects. In early 2011, Michael joined NAMA where he held a number of different roles to include Deputy Head of Residential Delivery. In July 2018, Michael was appointed by the Minister for Finance as Project Lead for HBFI. In April 2019 Michael assumed the role of HBFI Interim CEO and in September 2019 as Chief Commercial Officer. Michael holds an MBA from the UCD Smurfit Business School and is a member and holder of a Diploma in Company Direction from the IOD.
Sean Alger has extensive senior management experience in the financial services sector with particular expertise in underwriting and managing residential and commercial development loan portfolios. Prior to joining HBFI, Sean managed the credit team at NAMA with responsibility for the residential development loan book and previously held a number of different senior positions with Permanent TSB including Head of Commercial Credit. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers.
Denise Donovan is Head of Operations and Finance for HBFI. Prior to joining HBFI, Denise worked with a number of banks and non-bank lenders in Australia, the UK and Ireland, including GE Commercial, BNP Paribas and Macquarie Bank. Denise holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCD and a Masters of Accounting from the Smurfit Graduate Business School and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Paula Flinter is a solicitor with extensive experience in real estate finance with a particular focus on residential developments. Prior to joining HBFI, Paula was a partner in private practice, in-house counsel in Bank of Ireland and held the position of Head of Legal - Residential Delivery in NAMA. Paula holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and LL.M in European Law from University College Dublin.
Fergus Mangan has extensive banking and debt management experience, particularly in residential development lending. Prior to joining HBFI, Fergus managed a team in NAMA’s Residential Delivery division with responsibility for a number of NAMA’s largest developers and worked in various roles in Ulster Bank’s Property Finance and Corporate Banking divisions. Fergus holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCD and an MBS (International Business) from Smurfit Graduate Business School.
