HBFI Board

Under section 8 of the HBFI Act, the HBFI Board must consist of a minimum of three and no more than seven members appointed by the Minister for Finance, one of whom will be the Chairperson.

The Minister for Finance appointed three Board members on the formation and registration of HBFI. These are Des Carville (Head of Shareholding and Financial Advisory Division, Department of Finance) who was also appointed as Interim Chairperson, Michael Broderick (HBFI Project Lead) and Andrew O’Flanagan (Chief Legal Officer, NTMA).

The HBFI Board will take all significant strategic decisions and retain full and effective control of HBFI while delegating day to day responsibilities for leadership and control, within defined authority limits, to senior management as appropriate.
